I am looking for the Part Number  of the WiFi connection cable that connects to the WiFi card see photos below of the card - I also need to replace the WiFi card as you can see the No. 2 plug input has broken off somehow! "I'm surprised that I am even able to connect to the internet using WiFi"

 

As I live in Australia! I need Australian website links if possible or just the Part Number of the WiFi connection cable, I was trying to contact HP Support Directly so that I can ask about these part replacements but the Virtual Agent is horrible to even understand anything "Wish HP Support was like Microsoft Support where you wait in a queue to talk to a real agent" rather than the pathetic virtual agent rubbish... No Offence!!!

 

I am able to find a replacement WiFi card but not the connection cable "I need to replace the connection cable because the little part that has came off the WiFi card is stuck inside the plug, which I can't remove it" 

 

As for the WiFi card replacement! The AO number on my card "AO4-13" seems to be other numbers available on ebay will these still work? Otherwise it be embarrassing if I need to swop it after purchasing

 

The reason why this has happened it's because I disassembled my notebook to clean the cooling fans as I remove them to clean all the dirt out using my air compressor and I broken the WiFi card plug connector "Not exactly sure what's it called" as I said see the photos! It will best show what I mean and need

Hi:

 

You should be OK with that card.

 

I looked up the SPS# on the card you found on eBay, and I do see others such as this one that also reference that it is for the 15-cx000 model series.

You may have to live with the lousy wifi speeds until you can get a second antenna installed, or if you know someone you trust who would like to try and yank that broken part of the antenna...

 

Ideally, you need one of those magnifying lights you can look through like watchmakers have, where both of your hands are free and have the right tools.

Hi, @PhilChorusch 

 

If you are patient, you can probably dig that broken part out of the antenna connector.

 

I beat you, and broke both of the terminals off the Intel 7265 card I had while trying to upgrade it to a 9260.

 

Using a sewing needle, tweezers and a jeweler's loupe, I was able to dig out those broken parts from the antenna wires.

 

The needle will loosen them up and then you can grab any part of the broken terminal with the tweezers when you get enough of it to come up from inside the connector.

 

Took me about an hour, but I was not going to let that mishap get the better of me.

I don't really have much patience!

 

I did however try to do what you have suggested! But I think the No.2 terminal ring from the WiFi card is stuck too deep into the No.2 antenna plug, I have tried removing it without success as I keep checking if it would connect to the No.1 terminal on the WiFi card for testing and for some reason it's not connecting! Could No.1 and No.2 terminals on the WiFi card and No.1 and No.2 antenna plugs be different in size? Hence to void wrong connection

Sorry you weren't able to get the broken part out of there.

 

The broken terminal (#2 Main) controls the wifi, and the aux terminal controls the Bluetooth.

 

That is why you get no wifi but the Bluetooth should be working just fine.

 

The connectors are exactly the same size.

The strange thing is that both the Bluetooth and WiFi are working as it should but reduced WiFi speed! It's very strange how I am even able to connect to the internet using WiFi "I think this laptop is MAGICAL" HAHA

I downloaded the manual awhile back! But I never even thought to look at it.

 

Now I have all the part numbers! But as for contacting HP, it's just impossible because of the silly Virtual Agent doesn't understand "I need to order parts"

The Aux terminal also provides antenna diversity for the wifi.

 

The wifi's main source of reception is the Main terminal. 

 

The Aux terminal provides extra reception called antenna diversity.

 

So the signal is probably weaker with just the one wire.

 

Unfortunately, the antenna kit you need to order is out of stock.
