What processor can I upgrade to? For HP g6-1240sa

Currently I have i5-2430M CPU @ 2.4GHz - what improvement can I see if I upgrade?

Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook.

 

c02968997 (hp.com)

 

The supported processors can be found in chapter 1.

 

The best you can go to would be the Intel® Core™ i7-2620M.

 

It's your PC, but I doubt that an upgrade like that would make much of a difference.

 

If you have not maxed out the memory to 2 x 4 GB and replaced the 2.5" mechanical hard drive with a 2.5" solid state drive, I would do those easy upgrades first before upgrading the processor.

 

They will help your notebook's performance much more than upgrading the processor a couple of notches.

Thank you @PaulTikkanen, that is helpful. I agree don't have much to gain by upgrading processor. I have already upgraded to 16GB RAM and SSD, which was quite useful, so was just exploring options.
