And why is my Ram 1F×16 instead of ×8 ?

Thanks in advance.

You're very welcome.

Your notebook already comes with a 128 GB M.2 SATA SSD from HP.

You would not be able to upgrade the SATA SSD to a NVMe one.

NVMe SSD's are only supported in the notebooks with the Ryzen processors.

You could install a larger capacity M.2 SATA SSD such as 250 GB or 500 GB if you wanted to.

I don't believe your notebook will support a single 16 GB DDR4 memory chip but if you want to experiment, that is up to you.

The HP service manual and the Crucial memory report indicate that only 1 x 8 GB of memory is supported.

Hi:

Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook.

Maintenance and Service Guide HP 14 Laptop PC

The memory upgrade info can be found in chapter 1.

Your notebook has one memory slot, and the max memory the slot can support is 1 x 8 GB.

Your notebook can only run DDR4 memory at a max speed of 1866 MHz.

Normally folks that have notebooks like yours install 1 x 8 GB of DDR4-2400 memory and it automatically bridges to 1866 MHz.

This would be a compatible 8 GB memory chip for your notebook...

Anytime.

Glad to have been of assistance.

I happen to have a HP 255 G7 notebook with a 256 M.2 SATA SSD and 8 GB of memory, and the same A4 processor as yours.

It's slow.  ☹️
