Hi. I recently purchaced this laptop and want to buy an additional 8gb of ram, but i cant find the compatible types. Thanks for the help in advance :OpenSmile:

Is it possible that the ram i bought didnt work simply because i hadnt updated my BIOS ? It's ADATA Premier, 8GB DDR4, 2666 MHz, CL19 1.2v

Not really. A BIOS update is a good idea but the original BIOS should handle the additional memory. What do you mean by "didn't work"?

I believe that's the one yes. I took the laptop to a pc repair shop and apparently it didn't want to boot up with the additional ram installed.

That memory should work....not sure what the repair guys did.

Or try to do it yourself. Thats why we are here. I would check what is already in there. Its possibly DDR4-2400 but still that memory you got should work.

Its 2666 actually. Also i thought of doing it myself as ive worked on PCs before but im afraid i might break something because the compartment doesnt open easily
