Product: Pavilion 15
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

What's the maximum memory for 15-ay170sa? Currently has 8GB module in 1 of the 2 slots.

I've looked in all the HP-suggested online documents to no avail. I need to replace the existing 8GB module, but would like to know if I can expand to 16. Or further??

Hi:

 

According to chapter 1 of the service manual at the link below, you can add a second 8 GB memory module for a total of 16 GB.

 

Just get a second memory module with the same specs as the one you have in there now.

I've heard rumors that some folks have installed 2 x 16 GB in models with the Kaby Lake chipsets, but I cannot confirm that.
