Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I have had my laptop since Semptember 2018 and i have been contemplating upgrading the RAM and possibly the HDD to an SSD of a similar size. However, my only issue is that i am not sure what modules are exactly compatible as the system provides me with vague information on the spec of the system.

I have researched a little bit and found that there are 2 RAM slots and mine has 2 sticks of 4GB Samsung DDR4-2666 (1333 MHz). Im not confident enough to find anything similar to upgrade with, i have found some that sounds similar but im not sure whether it would specifically fit. I know that the system supports up to 32GB and some users have reported that it works just fine.

If possible i would like to know specific model numbers / links to RAM modules of 2x8gb and 2x16gb . If It makes things easier 2x8gb would be just fine if noone can find supported ram modules of 2x16gb.

I can give you more information via a dxdiag file if necessary.

Thanks in advance

Chad

That is definitely DDR4-2666. Yes the slot is for 260 pin DDR4-2666 modules and nothing else.

Here is a 2 x 16 gig CL = 17 kit that would work fine for you:

Timetec is the amazon prime house brand and they are selling a lot of it and its actually made by Hynix for amazon so is quality stuff.

It would be good to know the specific model of the laptop. Memory is either DDR4-2666 or DDR4-2400 depending on the processor installed.

Your Service Manual

See p. 17. If you do actually have DDR4-2666 modules then you must have either a 8750H or 8300H

This is the HP Part Number for a DDR4-2666 module 8 gigs:

8-GB     937236-855

The important thing to note is that this is dual rank CL17 latency memory so you could also go with an equivalent  module

 from another seller.

You can also go 2 x 16 = 32. Post back with any more questions and please accept as solution if this is the info you needed.

Hiya, thank you for the information, it has been incredibly helpful.

I cannot find the specific model of the laptop, i saw somewhere that is was a 15-Cx00000 or something similar. I cannot find any more specific information but i have the i5-8300H .

Thank you for the 2x8gb options, with this information and the screenshots below, could you find similar but for 2x16gb ?

You found it so much easier than i ever would as im not 100% sure on the compatibility of modules. Do the modules have to be 260 pin, SO-DIMM modules?

Thanks,

Chad
