I am looking to upgrade my computer to 2tb of memory but I do not know what ssd to upgrade, I was looking at the samsung 970 evo plus and the crucial p5 plus gen 4 but I do not know what ssd would be better for my lapto.

Hi:
Your notebook's M.2 slot is only PCIe Gen 3.0.
A PCIe Gen 4.0 SSD will work but it will not run at its maximum advertised read/write speeds from a PCIe Gen 3.0 slot.
The most you could expect would be around 3,500 MBPS.
There aren't that many 2 TB PCIe Gen 3.0 SSD's out there, so I recommend you buy a PCIe Gen 4.0 drive and in the future you can transfer it to newer PC that has a PCIe Gen 4.0 slot.
I recommend either the Samsung 980 Pro 2 TB or the newer Samsung 990 Pro 2 TB.
If you want a budget priced 2 TB PCie Gen 4.0 drive which also performs well, look into the Western Digital Blue SN580 2 TB.
