HP Probook 440 G4
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I notice my laptop has an empty PCIe slot, I just want to ask if I can use an NVME or PCIe/M.2 SDD in it as internal storage. I'm planning to move my OS on PCIe SSD and keep the harddrive inside as backup storage for my files. Is it possible and if it is what specific type of SSD should I put. Thank you.

Hi:

Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook.

HP ProBook 440 G4 Notebook PC Maintenance and Service Guide

Chapter 1 has the supported drive types.

Your notebook's M.2 slot supports SATA SSD's only, not NVMe.
