Good day,
My
HP Notebook - 15-bs001ni only has 4GB of RAM in. I would like to upgrade it to at least 16GB. What type of RAM should I order? On the Takealot website can I just type in DDR-3 sodimm RAM? Just do not want to order RAM that will not fit into the slot in my notebook. The part number for the current RAM is M471B5173DB0-YK0
If somebody can please assist me?
Thank you

Hi:
Notebooks with the Intel Celeron N3060 processors only have one memory slot and the maximum memory the slot will support is 1 x 8 GB of DDR3L-1600.
So, in order to upgrade the memory, you will have to remove the 4 GB memory chip and install an 8 GB memory chip.
This should be a compatible 8 GB memory chip for your notebook:

16 GB of memory is almost guaranteed not to work.
Intel's specs for the processor indicates it can only support up to 8 GB of memory.
Intel® Celeron® Processor N3060
I'd normally say, 'go ahead and take a gamble on it,' but a 16 GB DDR3L-1600 memory chip is very expensive because hardly any notebook supported a 16 GB memory chip in the memory slot.
$140 is probably more than your notebook is worth nowadays.
