Hello,
Today I noticed that my laptop was sitting even more unevenly on my desk than usual. I could feel the touchpad bulging out more on the side of the battery, so I knew that the battery swelling was getting too much and decided to remove it entirely.
My question is, are there any negative effects to not having a battery inside your laptop for an extended period of time, apart from of course not having a "back-up" source of power? I use the laptop for gaming, amongst other things. I will buy a new battery at some point, but during this Christmas time, I wouldn't be opposed to not spending some money, and using my laptop as a desktop PC like I normally do anyway.
Thank you for any insights in advance.

Hi:
If the notebook is running fine with just the power adapter, there shouldn't be any issues I can think of, other than what you already mentioned as well as perhaps the clock settings not being maintained when the PC is completely off or unplugged.
I suppose if you leave it in sleep state, or have the turn on fast startup box checked in the power settings, I assume the clock settings would also be maintained as well.
