Hello, I connected a graphics tablet to my HP Victus D16 (68P31EA) laptop via USB. When the computer is in sleep mode, the laptop becomes very hot and when I turn it on, the CPU temperature reaches 90-100°C. However, when I disconnect the graphics tablet from the laptop, it doesn't overheat in sleep mode. I tried the same graphics tablet on another laptop and didn't experience any heating issues in sleep mode. Has anyone experienced a similar problem and found a solution? What could be the problem?"

Hi @y_agop,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you are experiencing overheating issues with your HP Victus D16 laptop when connecting a graphics tablet while it is in sleep mode, there could be a few possible causes for this problem. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try.
- Update drivers: Make sure that you have the latest drivers installed for both the graphics tablet and your laptop. Outdated drivers can sometimes cause compatibility issues and potentially lead to overheating problems.
- Check power settings: Verify the power settings on your laptop. Ensure that the sleep mode settings are configured properly, as incorrect settings might prevent the laptop from entering a low-power state when it goes to sleep. Adjust the settings to allow for power-saving options during sleep mode.
- USB port: Try connecting the graphics tablet to different USB ports on your laptop. Some USB ports may provide more power than others, and using a different port might alleviate the overheating issue.
- Check tablet compatibility: Confirm that the graphics tablet you are using is compatible with your HP Victus D16 laptop. Visit the manufacturer's website or consult the tablet's documentation to verify compatibility. Incompatibility between the tablet and the laptop can sometimes cause unusual behavior or system conflicts.
- Power management settings: Open the power management settings for your laptop and check if there are any options related to USB power delivery or USB charging. Ensure that these settings are properly configured and not causing excessive power consumption.
- External cooling: Consider using a laptop cooling pad or an external fan to improve the airflow around your laptop when using the graphics tablet. Adequate cooling can help prevent overheating issues.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
