As i said the light is blue instead of red. It never happened in windows 10. Morely happens on windows 11. I think a sign it's battery or power AC failing slowly. It's back to normal after 10 minutes. But i don't want any parts failing.

Hi @Talfa,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your laptop is showing a blue light instead of the usual red light when you plug in the charger after gaming, it could indicate an issue with the battery or power adapter. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:
1. Check Battery Health
Windows 11 has a built-in tool to check the battery health:
- Open Command Prompt:
- Press Win + X and select Terminal (Admin) or Command Prompt (Admin).
- Generate Battery Report:
- Type powercfg /batteryreport and press Enter.
- The report will be saved in a specified location, usually C:\Users\[YourUsername]\battery-report.html.
- Review the Report:
- Open the report and check the battery’s health status. Look for any signs of degradation or capacity issues.
2. Check Power Adapter
Ensure that the power adapter is functioning correctly:
- Check for any physical damage to the power adapter or the cable
- Use a multimeter to check if the power adapter is providing the correct voltage:
- If possible, try using a different power adapter compatible with your laptop to see if the issue persists.
3. Update Battery Drivers
Ensure that the battery drivers are up-to-date:
- Open Device Manager:
- Press Win + X and select Device Manager.
- Update Battery Drivers:
- Expand the Batteries section.Right-click on Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery and select Update driver.
- Follow the prompts to update the driver.
4. BIOS/UEFI Update
Updating the BIOS/UEFI can sometimes resolve power and battery-related issues:
- Check for BIOS/UEFI Updates:
- Visit the HP support website and search for your laptop model.Download and install the latest BIOS/UEFI update if available.
- Follow the Instructions Carefully:
- Follow the instructions provided by HP to update the BIOS/UEFI.
5. Monitor Battery and Power Usage
Using Windows 11’s built-in tools, monitor battery and power usage to identify any issues:
- Battery Saver and Power Settings:
- Go to Settings > System > Power & battery.
- Review the Battery usage and Battery saver settings.
- Power Plan:
- Ensure that your laptop is set to an appropriate power plan that balances performance and power usage.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
