 My laptop died and i went to charge When my laptop is plugged in the light is off but when I press the power button it turns orange then immediately turns off when i press it dell laptop latitude 5420 recent got it fixed for the same reason. is there anyway I can fix it? (Please help)

To better understand the issue, could you please provide a few more details?


Step 1: Perform a Hard Reset

Disconnect the laptop from the charger.

Press and hold the power button for 15–20 seconds to drain residual power.

Reconnect the charger and try turning it on again.

 

Step 2: Check the Charger and Battery

Make sure you’re using the original HP charger.

Inspect the charger cable and port for damage or debris.

If possible, try another compatible charger to rule out charger issues.

 

Step 3: Disconnect External Devices

Remove all USB drives, external monitors, and peripherals.

Sometimes external devices can prevent the laptop from powering on.
