@Shrawani_09, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Overwrite Mode!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Press the Insert Key:

  • The issue usually occurs because the "Insert" key is pressed accidentally. Try pressing the "Insert" key on your keyboard once to toggle between "insert mode" and "overwrite mode".

Check Keyboard Settings:

  • Another reason could be due to sticky keys or some keyboard settings that have changed. Ensure that the keyboard settings are as desired.

Use Ease of Access Settings:

  • Sometimes modifying the accessibility settings can help resolve such issues.

Steps to Access Ease of Access Settings in Windows:

Open Ease of Access Settings:

  • In Windows, search for and open Ease of Access settings by typing it in the Windows search bar.

Check Keyboard Settings:

  • Select Keyboard in the Ease of Access settings.

Turn Off Features:

  • Ensure features like "Sticky Keys" and "Toggle Keys" are off if not required.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
