HP 2000 Notebook PC
Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)

Hello, I am trying to figure out when my laptop was actually built, what year? I got it through Fingerhut Catalog (I know, bad choice but at the timeit was the only way I could get one), anyway I got it in around 2009 or 2010, but it's called an "HP 200 Notebook PC" so I am just wondering if these models were actually BUILT in 2000? If so, then I'm using a 17-year old computer?!? I mean I got it in 2009 or 2010, don't remember exactly, but if it were built around that time it would only be about 10 years old, which would make me feel a little better!LOL! Anyone know???

HP 2000 has nothing to do with year. That was the name of the Model series. None of the hardware in your laptop was available 17 years ago nor was Windows 7. The laptop was likely built in mid 2009 or later as that is when HP started releasing Windows 7 machines.

Well that's good to know that it wasn't prehistoric when I got it!LOL! It's been a great computer and it's been well-used. However it needs some maintenance, like defragging (whatever that is but I was told it needs it) I'm not a techie. It also has a bunch of pictures of icons loaded in my pictures file and through Windows Media that are taking up a lot of memory I'm sure. Plus I once spilt a glass of Coke on the keyboard and it fell off a laptop stand once and the battery fell out, etc. But like that watch company, it keeps on ticking!

This video shows defrag- you might also want to use Disk Cleanup before defrag:
