Where can I obtain a new HP battery?

Hello,

I posted a while ago regarding my battery which was slowly dying. The time has come to replace it with a new one. But I don't know who to contact. Online assistance via WhatsApp and Messenger has proved useless, and the HP website doesn't really give any help. I've seen a few websites that purportedly sell HP batteries, and even Amazon lists some batteries for HP laptops. But are they really compatible? It seems incredible that something as vital to a laptop as the battery cannot easily be replaced!!

Sorry to hear that you are having problems ... I would like to help you.

(1) Please < calibrate > your battery ...

Open windows <device manager> and uninstall "Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery" 

- Right click on "Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery"

- Click "Uninstall device"

- Confirm your choice if you see a popup notification

(2) Shutdown notebook

(3) Disconnect charger

(4) Press and hold <power> button for 30 seconds

(5) Connect charger and wait until battery is fully charged ( check LED indicator )

(6) Start notebook and log in to windows and wait a few minutes

(7) Shutdown notebook

(8) Test your <battery> Using the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI)

Many thanks for your reply, Ub6424, but I've already performed these checks several times at the suggestion of the HP technicians who've assisted me on Messenger. My battery is now relatively old, and needs replacing. My problem, as stated above, is that I cannot seem to get any help regarding a replacement. Does HP stock/sell them? If so, how do you order them online? There's also the question of the warranty. I took out an extra 2-year warranty when I bought my laptop, which expires at the end of October 2022.  Would a battery replacement be covered by this warranty? If it is, then why haven't the HP assistants offered to replace it free of charge?

Lots of unanswered questions...
