It's not listed in the Maintenance and Service guide: https://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06618426.pdf or the guide isn't correct.

I tried to follow the bouncing ball and look for L9311*5*-601 and L93114-60*2*... no cigar.

My motherboard is cooked, I need a replacement, and possibly a new battery. 😕 I'm well out of warranty, Where can I buy one? Also, if possible an unlocked BIOS so I don't have to mess with hardware more than I have to.

**TLDR

I had a very simple mission: Swap in my old SSD to retrieve its Power Plan - a success. After the mission, however, struggled to reconnect the battery into the socket (think the connector is out of alignment, right side won't plug in), thinking I was being "safe" disconnecting the power sources in the first place, wearing electromagnetic gloves and all... a sizzle and a lovely puff of smoke emerge from the motherboard. How something so lackluster, could be so dramatic in the moment is beyond me. I **bleep** near wanted to cry. LOL I knew instantly it was game over. Figured it'd be a hassle to find another motherboard, and surprise-surprise, it has been thus far.

**

**Edit**

A compatible upgrade would be fine too, at least that would give a solid incentive to recompile my OS. But the same would be best so I don't have to.

What is your machine ? Manual shows ONLY 3 options

● AMD® Ryzen7-4750U 2.0 GHz (turbo up to 4.2 GHz) eight core processor (8.0 MB L3 cache, 25 W)
● AMD Ryzen5-4500U 2.375 GHz six core processor (8.0 MB L3 cache, 25 W)
● AMD Ryzen3-4300U 2.7 GHz (turbo up to 3.8 GHz) four core processor (4.0 MB L3 cache, 25 W)

and your machine with 5700U is NOT on the list. Please note: There are hundreds models/products of HP ENVY x360 15 Convertible PC machines around.

It does not help because HP does no supply manual for the series but your machine should use same system board of the HP Envy x360 15-ee1083cl machine which is M36931-601 as shown on the following list

         https://partsurfer.hp.com/?searchtext=369S8UA

To be sure is to be sure, what is your machine ?
