I just bought a new sata ssd and now Im trying to figure out where I need to mount in the drive bay but I can't make sense of it can someone help please?

This video at the 2:24 point shows the place the drive can be installed. You just need an adapter from 2.5 to the 3.5 size
check to see if your system came with an extra SATA data cable and that there is an available power connector. if not then get the adapter that comes with the extra cables.

You may need the adapter if the existing 3.5 inch mounting bracket is not drilled for holes to fit the 2.5 inch ssd.
If the ssd is plastic (insulated) then it can hang loose if you do not want to mount it. I have done that where there is not good place to mount a small SSD. Just be sure it is not loose to where it can block a fan from spinning.
If your sata ssd is the m.2 type then you need a different type of adapter.
