HP Notebook - 15-da0326tu

Hello friends,

Recently 1TB hard disk of my laptop

HP Notebook - 15-da0326tu have shown some smart hard disk error and my laptop become very slow. In view of that I upgraded my hard disk by using one slot present in this laptop for SSD Nvme and my laptop working good.

But I want to upgrade it's RAM as well and there is an issue. Actually it has one RAM 4GB  of 2133mhz frequency (17000 ) of Samsung ddr4 originally provided in this laptop. Now 2133mhz frequency is not available in market mostly and even if it is, it is very costly. So, I just have to ask whether I can add another 4/8 GB 2400mhz frequency RAM which is easily available at reasonable prices whether it will support if I remove the already present RAM of Samsung or with it.

KINDLY HELP ME WITH THIS.

Hello, I'm here to assist you, before of upgrading your RAM To 2400mhz, first find what model is your Laptop's processor,

for example "Ryzen 5 3500U" you can find this by going to Task Manager ---> Performance ---> CPU

We need this information so we can figure out what frequency of RAM Does your Laptop's processor support.

Once you have gotten your processor/cpu's name type it in Google and type (Processor name) max RAM frequency

for example "Ryzen 5 3500u max RAM frequency" make sure to change the Ryzen  5 3500u example I have listed with your

actual processor/cpu's name.

If your processor supports it, you might be able to do the upgrade, but It is recommended you get a Technician Specialist

to do the upgrade, or from a Verifed HP Dealer/Repair center, if you want to do the upgrade yourself, keep in mind

it might void your warranty with HP.

If you want to proceed here are some basics steps to do the upgrade yourself,

you will need a screwdriver

a prying tool (or something to pry open the laptop/notebook) you will need a screwdriver kit that has the following screws a 000, 00, 0 If you don't have a screwdriver kit, I recommend IFixIt's essential electronics repair tool kit,

***bleep*** Moving on to upgrade it you'll need to unscrew all the screws on the backplate, and then gently take off the backplate, pry open into it, and you'll see the computer's parts, unplug the old RAM, or if you have a available RAM slot you can also use that.

Click your new RAM Stick in until you hear a little CLICK sound,

once the upgrade is done, align the backplate with the screw places on the backplate, then screw all the screws. Turn on the computer to see if the upgrade has been done, and worked

(Note if you are using different frequency's of ram we don't recommend that."

Hi, @shekharshashank

Your notebook has two memory slots and can support 2 x 8 GB of DDR4 memory.

You can use DDR4-2133, DDR4-2400, DDR4-2666 or DDR4-3200.

It is all going to run at 2133 MHz because that is the fastest speed your notebook's  i3-7100U processor can run the memory at.

Below is the link to the service manual where you can find the memory upgrade info in chapter 1, and the memory removal and replacement procedure in chapter 5.

This should be a compatible 8 GB memory chip for your notebook.

It should work with or without the Samsung 4 GB 2133 MHz chip.
