HP Compaq NC6000

Hi there,

so i have an old notebook and the hard drive crashed. I installed a new one that notebook worked again. so far so good.

But i lost my data because i had no backup.

so now (years later) i want to send the harddrive to an harddrive-repair-service to backup my data. unfortunately in my shelf there are two defective drives and i dont know anymore which one is the right one.

I've got the "Seagate Momentus 40GB" and the "Thoshiba MK3025GAS 30GB".

one was in the HP Compaq, the other one in an fujitsu lifebook.

Notebook Model Number:

p/n DJ333T#ABZ

Cnc60000QP140X430WGi25P ITL

Does anybody have a clue which one was build in my old notebook?

Did HP Compaq ever use Seagate harddrives in that notebook class?

Did HP Compaq ever use Toshiba harddrives in that notebook class?

I think that should answer my question 😄

Would be very very happy if we find out.

by the way: this is the product site i found (but no help for me)

There will be no record of this anywhere. HP used both Toshiba and Seagate hard drives back then. Probably slightly more likely its the Toshiba.

Hi, @ProfNuke

Here is the parts list for your notebook's product number.

HP PartSurfer

Check on eBay...enter the part numbers for the 30 and 40 GB drives indicated in the parts list, and maybe you will get lucky.

I see Hitachi, and others using that part number, so it will take some patience and detective work on your part.
