HP Pavilion 17-e061ss
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I have a problem to upgrade my laptop.

I have a HP Pavilion 17-e061ss. It now has an Intel Pentium 2020M processor. This is a very weak processor and I want to replace it with a processor from the Intel i7 series. My laptop has a motherboard Hewlett-Packard 1971 Rev. 9.33 (HP partnumber 713257-501). I cannot find data with what Intel processors i7 really anywhere my HP motherboard can work.  Unfortunately, in the manual for this laptop there is no exact indication of which Intel i7 processor can be used with my motherboard. It speaks only in general about the Intel i5 processor and Pentium. Also in the general manual, Intel i7 processors of the third and fourth generations are indicated, however, it is not clear whether these (or other i7) processors can be used specifically with my Hewlett-Packard 1971 Rev. 9.33 (HP partnumber 713257-501) motherboard.

Can someone tell me exactly which Inte i7 processors my Hewlett-Packard 1971 Rev. 9.33 (HP partnumber 713257-501) motherboard really supports?

Thanks

Can someone tell me which processors from the i7 series really support this motherboard 713257-501 or give a link with a Web page and a description of this motherboard 713257-501?

Thank you for your reply with links to the manuals.
The CPU i7-4702MQ (TDP = 37W) that you highlighted is probably very good, but it has a TDP of 5.8% more than my Pentium 2020M (TDP = 35W). I'm not sure that the cooling system of my HP Pavilion 17-e061ss will easily cope with such an increase in heat output. Therefore, I chose a CPU with the same TDP = 35W that my Pentium 2020M has. This is the i7-3632QM CPU, which is also on your list and in the manual for my laptop. I already bought this CPU today. When I receive it and install it in my laptop, I will return to this topic and write my impressions.

Thank you again for your reply. He really helped me.
