I recently bought this laptop and I want to install SSD on this machine. There's already a 1TB HDD installed. I want to know what type of SSD is actually compatible. Also, If I buy a SATA SSD will I have to replace my HDD?
Thanks 🙂

Hello @Phoenix_07
You can install an M.2 NVMe SSD 2280mm. You should open the case and make sure the slot is soldered to the board first. Sometimes they are left out.
Here is your manual, page 30 http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06446633
Any brand will work as will capacity. Samsung is the popular brand but also more expensive. Crucial is also good. You can always ask if you have questions on a particular drive.
Example... Crucial M.2 500GB
I suggest you disconnect the HDD first, before installing Windows to the new drive.
