I’m planning to upgrade my laptop with an SSD to improve its performance, as it’s currently very slow. I’d love some suggestions on which SSD would be best for my system. Here are the details of my laptop:
- Device Name: DESKTOP-A0UVKUB
- Processor: AMD A8-7410 APU with AMD Radeon R5 Graphics @ 2.20 GHz
- Installed RAM: 4.00 GB (3.46 GB usable)
- System Type: 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
- Storage Type: Currently running on HDD (looking to upgrade to SSD)

Hi:
You can replace the 2.5" mechanical hard drive with a 2.5" SATA SSD which is probably the only drive supported in your notebook.
In order to see if you have other options, please post the product number of your notebook.
Run the Windows system information app and the product number will be found on the System SKU line about 1/4 of the way down on the report.

Hi:
Your notebook model is a 15-ba001ax.
Below is the link to the service manual:
Chapter 1 shows that M.2 SATA SSD's were available but if you look at this eBay listing of the motherboard your PC comes with, the only M.2 slot that is showing is the one for the Wi-Fi card.

Additional parts were needed to add the M.2 slot which would have only been included if the notebook originally came with a M.2 SATA SSD from the factory.
The M.2 SSD parts are listed in chapter 3.
Yes, the BX500 would work fine, but the MX500 does provide better performance as far as read/write speeds are concerned.
Naturally, it costs a little more than the BX500 does.
