My notebook is slow and the hard drive failed the Short Drive Self-Test. I have tried upgrading the RAM but that didn't seem to do anything. I would like to try and upgrade the hard drive to and SSD but I don't know which ones would be compatible. Please advise. Thanks.

Here is the Service Manual:

M.2 slot in green circleM.2 slot in green circle

You can see the hard drive to the right of the green circle and the green circle is the M.2 SSD slot. On your model it can only be a SATA M.2 SSD. So you can replace the mechanical hard drive with a 2.5 inch SATA SSD. It would be a direct plug in replacement. Uses the same caddy and attachment cable. OR, you can just use an M.2 "gumstick" SSD. The two types of devices will cost near the same and perform near the same.

2.5 inch SATA SSD:

M.2:

It's probably a bit easier to just replace the hard drive since it is failing anyway with a 2.5 inch SATA SSD. It will be a huge improvement. If you need help with migrating software or anything else post back. Please accept as solution if this is the info you needed.
