Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Sir, I want o to install an SSD on my laptop hp 15 Bs544tu but I don't know which SSD type will be compatible with my model. I have checked my motherboard specification it has mentioned "One M.2 socket 3, 2280 type for SSD" Check Here. Also, it has M.2X3 written on board, so which SSD type should I Buy M.2 Nvme or M.2 SATA or M.2 PCIe . Please Reply it's urgent.

This my M.2 Port In Laptop Panel.

Hi:

Your notebook's M.2 slot supports SATA SSD's only, not NVMe.

See chapter 1 of the service manual for the supported drive types...

Thanks for your reply it really helps.

I have another question is which SSD should I buy 2.5 Inch or M.2, I've checked both offers similar speeds so what do you recommend which type should I Install 2.5Inch or M.2?

You're very welcome.

If you want to still use the 2.5" drive for storage, buy a M.2 SATA SSD.

You are correct...both types of SSD's have the same read/write speeds.

For example...the WD Blue, which in my opinion offers the fastest read/write speeds for the price.

The only thing is...if you keep your 2.5" drive as storage, you will need to remove Windows from the drive, or the PC will always want to boot from the 2.5" drive first, and not the SSD.
