Spectre x360 15T
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Which Spectre x360 combo is better for performance?:

Intel i7  9th gen + NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1650

or

Intel i7 10th gen + NVIDIA® GeForce® MX250

One has a better CPU and one has a better GPU.  Which will come out ahead?

@DaveC1964

I don't know the voting would ending up 50/50 or 70/30 .... but for me machine with 10th CPU (with same clock speed and cache) is better

Regards.

If it has the Thunderbolt 3 , then you should buy the 10th generation one, since you can just use a eGPU to get a better performance.

How about the GPU?  That seems much better on the one with the 9th gen CPU.  It is too bad they didn't offer a 10th gen with better GPU. I know GPU matters most just for games and rendering apps like Blender.  I can't rule out some gaming on this too even though it really isn't a gaming laptop.

Thanks

Well, if you do not plan on buying a external GPU then i suggest u to go with the 9th generation one, but if you are willing to spend some money you can go with the 10th generation one and buy a external GPU so the laptop wont heat up so fast since it has a eGPU that is outside of your computer.

Ok that makes sense.  I didn't even know about eGPUs.   This does say it has thunderbolt 3.  Since the 9th gen CPU is less power efficient, and the higher end GPU uses double the wattage (50W vs 25W) I would think that combo would be much worse for battery life.    Maybe it would make sense then to get the one with better battery life on the go, then if using at home for games the eGPU could boost it and it would be plugged in so battery life would not be a concern.

Exactly 🙂
