Someone I know has a notebook model 17-by1033dx and asked if I could recommend a docking station. From what I can tell, this laptop doesn't have a USB C port, so I guess I'm looking for one of the older school options. They want to run both a monitor via HDMI and another monitor using VGA simultaneously. Any help is appreciated!

Thanks,

John

The specs of your machine is

If you wish to connect to 2 external monitors, you can use

M1: HDMI direct cable

M2: Using a Displaylink Certified USB-A to HDMI adapter such as

                   https://www.amazon.com.au/CableCreation-Adapter-Windows-Compatible-2560x1440/dp/B013G4CJM8

For more connectivity, please use

                   True Universal Docking Stations

Thanks, Banhien. If they want to use a docking station for other connectivity and not just the monitors, will a USB A type work for them? When I look at the specs for the laptop, the USB 3 ports say gen 1 (data transfer only). Are they compatible with one of those docking stations?

Thanks again!  - John
