Which other CPUs could I use in my HP Envy x360 (pictures inside)

Hello HPler

May be someone has some clue.

Until now, I found out that I could add an other motherboard to my laptop.

The following better/?better? CPUs I have already found on a appropriate motherboard.

i7-7500u

i5-8250u

i7-8550u

The motherboards for my 15-aq106ng looks like this.

The issue is, that I dont know the spare numbers of other motherboards with other CPUs, so I dont know which Motherboard and CPU I could use in my Laptop. All what I could do was using the abbrevations of the envy's like 101ng, 102ng, 104ng, 108ng.

But may be other laptops of the hp does have the same motherboard ?

Chapter 3 has the list of supported motherboards with their part numbers.

I don't see any motherboards that come with the Intel 8th generation core processors.

That model on the eBay link you posted is for a HP ENVY x360 - 15-aq273cl.

I found the model number by looking up the serial number of the notebook on the eBay listing.

I checked the support page, and it has no service manual.

However, here is the parts list for that model:

The motherboard part number and description is:

942032-601

MOTHERBOARD UMA i7-8550U WIN

Unfortunately, I would have no idea if that motherboard would fit perfectly in your notebook's case and have all the ports line up, etc.

You might also need the heatsink for that motherboard as well that is in the above parts list.

I ask the ebay seller for a motherboard picture,  May be it fits perfectly, because the power button is the same and also the other connectors.

Ok, the heatsink is also the same. 🙂

But the more I search and ask for information the more I get the point of view that the costs to get 100 mhz more turbo speed is not very economical.^^

The mb will cost 170€ incl. shipping and taxes.

So I would pay 42,50€ for each 100 MHz Turbo-Speed more in comparison to an i5-7200u^^.

And for the base speed difference it would be 85€ ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^lol.
