Which size should be use for HDD Caddy ?

Notebook - 15-bs112ne
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello all,

I am planning to upgrade my laptop to 500GB SSD and use the SSD in caddy and caddy has two size 12.5mm and 9.5mm but I don't have any idea about my DVD ROM thickness.
How do I know its thickness ?

Another question is whether my laptop supports M.2 SATA III ?

1. Caddy: It is thinner, only 9.0mm

2.For M.2 SSD slot the chance is 50/50. You only know when opening your machine

Note: Using SDD in ODD place won't get what is you looking for because SATA port for ODD could be slower than SATA III and you won't be able to boot from the caddy. My suggestion: Install SSD on HDD bay and move old HDD to the caddy.
