Hi:

Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook.

The supported drive types can be found in chapter 1.

HP 15 Laptop PC Maintenance and Service Guide

Your notebook's M.2 slot supports both SATA and NVMe SSD's.

From the list you posted, I believe the Samsung would be the best, but all of them are good.

I have personal experience with the Crucial P5.

It is excellent but it runs very hot.

I had to add a heat sink to it.

I could do that because I put it in a desktop PC.

You will probably not have enough clearance to do that in a notebook.

Thank you for your answer ! Also please tell me that what is the size limit of   M2 NVme Pcle SSD that i can install , in the manula 256gb is written somewhere but i am not sure , actually i am not understanding what is tried to say in the manual in respect of max memory size of SSD that can be installed

PS - i want to install 512 gb pr 500 gb ssd.

Also please tell me whether i can add additional RAM  (asking bcoz somewhere in manual it is written like RAM is not upgradable but i am not sure) and if yes than of what max size and also please provide buying link of best available option as per you.

Please share an extra info with me that what are the total type of ssd's available in the market and is Pcle a different variant of M2 NVme ssd's?

You're very welcome.

The drive capacities listed in the manual are just what HP offered in the model series.

If you want to install a 500 GB or 1 TB M.2 SSD, that would be fine.

The memory upgrade info can be found in chapter 1 of the manual.

2 x 8 GB of memory is supported, and the memory can be removed and replaced.

I don't quite understand the last part of your question...

There are two types of M.2 SSD's...PCIe (also known as NVMe), and SATA.

Please recommend a suitable RAM for my laptop (buying link will be appreciated) , as i also came to know that like ssd there are different type of RAM too , so if i purchase wrong one there can be compatibility issue , for your reference i am attatching my already installed RAM specs which is  displayed by CPU-Z software.

Also please tell me any tutorial of intsalling SSD and RAM by myslef as if after purchasing i have to install them myslef and also  provide a tutorial of how to transfer/Clone Windows and all apps from C Drive of HDD to newly installed SSD , so that the full advantage of SSD can be taken.

Thanks.

Hi:

I recommend that you install another 8 GB of memory so the memory runs in the higher performing dual channel mode.

When you have an empty memory slot, or add a memory chip of a different storage capacity, such as 4 GB, the memory runs in the lower performing single channel mode.

Here are the links to compatible memory for your notebook...

8 GB:

Crucial 8GB DDR4-2666 SODIMM | CT8G4SFRA266 | Crucial IN

4 GB:

Crucial 4GB DDR4-2666 SODIMM | CT4G4SFS8266 | Crucial IN

The procedures to install a SSD and memory can be found in the service manual that I posted the other day.
