Hello,
I have an HP Compaq Presario CQ57 notebook with a AMD E-350 processor (duo core). I want to upgrade the processor -to something faster- but I wonder which processors I can use for a safe replacement?
Thank you in advance for an eventual response.

Here's the Service Manual:
See p. 19. The CQ57 was one of the early "doorbuster" laptops. Very low end components designed to be sold at very low prices. The AMD processor models are all very weak low end processors and all are soldered to the motherboard so cannot be upgraded to anything worth having.
Sorry.
You could theoretically drop in one of the Intel motherboard which are socketed and would allow installation of a decent CPU, but the cost would be too high for what you would get in return.
Better to think in terms of a new laptop.
