Why Has not HP included i5 7300HQ Processors in their Windows 11 upgrade list?

I have a Pavilion Powered Laptop with a Inter core i5 7th Generation Processor, that I purchased 3 years ago.  And because of the HP Windows 11 Intel Core Processor's Shortlist.  I have to be looking at getting a another Laptop.  I am Struggling to understand why.   I purchased the machine for the power.

HP had nothing to do with what processors are supported for W11.

That is all Microsoft's doing, and a lot of us including me, are not happy about it.

However, I easily installed W11 on a PC with an Intel i7-7700 processor, and here is how to do it if you are interested...

I would make a system image of your current W10 installation prior to updating to W11, so you can easily reinstall W10 in the future.  I used the free Macrium Reflect software to do that, under the Backup at Home section. 

Along with the system image, make sure you create the bootable DVD or USB rescue drive you boot from to access the system image stored on your portable hard drive.

First make this registry change...

Then download the Windows 11 ISO file (3rd option), not the W11 installation assistant.

Download Windows 11 (microsoft.com)

Use Rufus and make a bootable USB installer with the ISO file you downloaded.

There is a new option to create an installer that is supposed to bypass the W11 hardware checks. 

After you make the installer, open the file contents, and double click on the setup application, and see if you can get the in-place upgrade like I was able to.

You can also clean install W11 with the bootable Rufus drive if you prefer.

I did that on a very old HP PC with an Intel i7-2600 processor.
