Why does my HP laptop charge at home but never on the road at hotels,etc?

    My new HP laptop [less than a year old] charges fine at home but not in hotels and homes of friends...??

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand you have trouble where the charger works only in the house, but it doesn't work outside. Sorry to hear about the issue. Let's try a BIOS Restore and see if this helps.

BIOS Restore :
1) Shut down the computer, keep the  charger plugged in
2) Hold down the Windows and B buttons together while the computer is still turned off.  
3) Turn on the computer and continue to hold the Windows and B buttons until a BIOS Recovery screen appears.  
4) Follow the on-screen instructions and click on OK.
