HP Laptop PC 15s-fq2000 (2D119AV)

I recently replaced my battery, and I was prompted to calibrate, but each time I do and restart my system, it is still says calibration is needed. What do I do? I calibrated it twice in less than 3 days

Hi @nikkizo,

Thank you for providing the model information. I understand that you have an HP Laptop 15-dy2795wm (6M0Z7UA) with a recently replaced battery, but HP continues to prompt you to calibrate the battery even after you have already completed the calibration twice.

Since the battery is newly replaced, please try the following:

Run HP Battery Check

  • Shut down the laptop.
  • Turn it on and repeatedly press Esc.
  • Press F2 to open HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI.
  • Select Component Tests > Power > Battery Check.
  • Note the result and any failure ID.
  • Run the battery calibration again only if HP Battery Check recommends it.
  • Avoid repeatedly calibrating the battery if the calibration completes successfully but the message continues to return.

If the battery test reports Replace, Weak, or another failure, please share the exact result with us.

Since the battery has recently been replaced, if HP Battery Check passes but the system continues to request calibration after a completed calibration cycle, we may need to determine whether the new battery is being properly recognized by the system.

Please let us know the battery check result so we can advise on the next step.

Best regards,
Kuroi_Kens
