Just as a final solution, yes it will work and is compatible. Tip, be sure and wait a long time for the first boot up so it can reread the memory. This is fast as lightning kit at a great price and I'm glad I went for it.

It will take DDR4 RAM which is 1.2V
Its specs : https://www8.hp.com/h20195/V2/GetPDF.aspx/c08007805
Regards.

Well, this is DDR4 (SO-Dimm) Memory and is 1.35v. Have also seen DDR4 at 1.14v.

Thank you very much indeed Yotamaster760 for the valuable info!
You obviously went for the Mushkin overclocking modules with the cl16. Yes, it's already been reported here on the HP forums that the G9s take a long time to boot after the RAM change, but eventually do (boot). Mushkin is actually a very good (and cheap) brand. I've used it on desktops with excellent results, plus they're made in Mexico. I, myself, went for the Hyperx cl20 modules on my G9 (2x32gb @1.2v) and they also work well. Though probably not as fast as your "pumped up" overvolted Redlines.

Thanks TzortzisG, the HyperX modules were actually at the top of my list when shopping but thanks to Amazon and a huge after Christmas sale the Mushkin were just too good to pass up. I am typically always plugged in so wasn't too worried about any kind of battery draw. It's still a little unclear because I've done a bunch of reading and I don't know if the current HP bios allows the unit to take full advantage of the 1.37 or not. I do all data analytics and reporting especially in Excel so stuck with the 2x16 kit but that 2x32 was a dangling carrot that we sure are to pass up LOL. The speed jump from the stock 2x8 Samsung units that came with it is noticeable for sure and definitely was worth the money. Not to say that the Samsung's weren't fast in their own right but cashing huge Excel files and active dashboards is greatly improved with the memory enhancement.

Yotamaster760, you should be able to use HWiNFO to see the DRAM voltages. Also you can see the speed and timings your RAM is running with. This kind of RAM only runs full throttle when the high voltage is set. So if it's forced to use the 1.2v base voltage, you'll have lower speeds.
What your posts tell me is that the probook G9s (and the identical G8) will work well with the gaming Ballistix cl16 1.35v modules, so I might use the Hyperx on my older Tiger Lake G8 and switch to the crazy-fast Crucials on my Alder Lake G9. So thanks for posting back with your results!
