Will a WD_Black™ SN850X NVMe 2TB work on my laptop

Will a WD_Black™ SN850X NVMe 2TB ssd work in my laptop and if so, how do I get t to show up in HP BIOS? Do I need to update the firmware through the WD Dasboard in windows before it will show up in my bios? So far the plan is to remove the Intel Optane memory and replace it with this WD_Black™ SN850X NVMe 2TB. I tried to hook it up to install windows to it and tried to clone windows to it, but my HP BIOS won't detect it. But when I hook it up via a usb enclosure in Windows 11 it detects it and asks me to format it. What would be the format settings be for it to be seen in bios?

What generation of PCIe NVMe M.2 solid-state drives would run under my machine? I looked under the maintenance and service guide and wasn't able to see it? Most stores just carry the Gen 4 drives
