I have a HP 15-bs028ne Model laptop with me .

From starting of purchase it self , i had HDD performance issue's with this laptop .

Last few day's ago on running HD Tune Pro & CrystalDiskInfo i found that i had a S.M.A.R.T warning with my HDD .

My Reallocated Sector Count has reached 2648 and is displaying Warning .

After much googleing i found out that my Data & HDD was on the verge of death .Any time my HDD can go dead ....

So my question is that Will i get a HDD Replacement for free if i visit authorised HP Service Center ?

 

I still have almost 3 months of Warrenty Left .

Final Verdict :

 

 

HP failed to replace my failing HDD ,stating that the model / replacement HDD is not available in India .

 

As this left me with no other way ,rather than replacing myself .

I had to purchase a new 1TB SSHD from Seagate .

Also i upgraded to a secondary M.2 SSD 128GB .

 

Thanks to all those who were out thier helping me and I am very disappointed with HP for their Customer Care/Service's  .

This is probably the last time i am purchasing a HP Notebook as my daily driver .

Dell has better support / flexibility with their support and I have experienced it personally a little while ago on my friend's laptop which also was from out-of-country model .

HP will replace it during warranty period. I suggest you also run the F2 System Diagnostics since that is what the service center will probably rely on. Immediately after powering on start tapping the Esc key. This will open a menu where F2 System Diagnostics is an option. Tap F2 key and run the tests.

System Diagnostics will give you an error code if the drive is failing. Write down the error code to give to repair center.

I have already kept the device under the extensive test ....It is now checking HARD DISK LONG DST CHECK from last few hours... Estimated time of completion is 6 hours....Will wait and update the results here...
Note : SMART TEST PASSED SUCCESSFULLY 🤔 somehow
I hope that it detects the errors / bad sectors ....

Is thier any specific test to do for this from the PC DIAGNOSTICS MENU ?
I have just now given the option of Extensive Tests ,which seems to be testing all components slowly !

After entering Diagnostics you should have a category for Component Tests. Choosing it will open a menu where you can test hard drive . However the extensive test usually also tests hard drive. If you get a "pass tests" using it you might want to try Components category.

So ,finally the results came and as expected ,Yes it failed .

I have attached the logs & photo of the Test here .

I will visit the Service Center and report the same .

But the problems lies in case of availability for replacement of my parts as my Laptop is a GCC Model & Parts are available only in Kuwait (Purchase Location) .

P.S: I had to do a motherboard replacement due to a BIOS failure .For this i had to send this laptop back to Kuwait & then back to my current location (India) .

 

Do you have any idea whether my Hard Disk will be available here in India ?

Seems like the situation is getting bad with more usage .HD Tune Pro shows more degraded HDD .
