Hi,

I want to replace my HDD with a Samsung 870 EVO 500GB ssd. So will it support my laptop model 15-cc623tx?

Earlier I bought a Samsung 980 500GB PCIe 3.0 M.2 NVMe SSD but then I found this post - https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/My-HP-Pavilion-15-cc623tx-is-n...

Which tells that Samsung 980 500GB PCIe 3.0 M.2 NVMe SSD is not compatible with my laptop. So now I to buy the Samsung 870 EVO 500GB ssd but will it support my laptop?

You should be able to replace your HDD with any 2.5" SSD. So yes, the Samsung 870 EVO 2.5" is supported. 

When it comes to the M.2 slot, that's where you would need to pay attention. There are M.2 NVME drives, but also M.2 SATA drives. Your laptop supports M.2 SATA 2280 drives, just not the NVME version.
