Hi all!
Quick question - will my HP Spectre bypass its battery and run off AC power if:
- it's plugged in, AND
- its battery is fully charged?
Context:
Most of the time I run my laptop off battery power alone. To optimise my battery's number of charge cycles, I usually use my laptop until it hits 30% and then only charge it until it reaches 80%. However when I'm working from home, I like to leave my laptop plugged in because I find it's a bit of a hassle to keep monitoring its battery charge. So what I'd like to know is if my laptop is plugged in and is at 100%, will it then run purely off AC power? Or will it run off its battery until it hits 99%, and then charge back up to 100%, and then run off battery till 99%, and then charge to 100%, repeat, etc.?
Thanks!

I reviewed your post and I understand that you want to know whether the battery stops charging when it is fully charged, and the charger is plugged in.
Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.
Yes, the battery stops charging once it is fully charged and it will start charging again only when the battery percentage drops below 94%.
I hope that answers your question and you have a great day!
