Recently I have replaced my battery as it was bulged out and the HP tech. was recommending me not to use laptop while plugged in if it is fully charged and only advises me to charge when it comes below 35%.I play games often for a longer period of time about 5 - 6 hrs.Should I use my laptop while plugged in even if it reaches 100% or unplug it ?...what is best for battery prolongation as I changed my battery after 2 years from the date of purchase

There really isn't a problem with using it while it is plugged in and at 100%.   I have been doing that for years and usually get from four to five years out of a battery.

All you need to do is  calibrate the battery once a month by running the test in the HP Support Assistant or the HP Hardware Diagnostic utility.

I will provide you with a few HP battery related documents.
