OMEN 16.1 inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-c0000 (343L4AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Intend to be a Crucial 2TB SSD storage upgrade.

They come in Gen 4 and Gen 3.

Is it worth investing in Gen 4, or does my machine support that and can I benefit from it, or does this Omen only support up to Gen 3?

The read/write speeds are of course higher for the Gen 4, but I'm unsure if that applies to gaming use?

Hi:

Your notebook's PCIe NVMe slot is Generation 3.0.

You can install a PCIe Gen 4 SSD, but it will only run at the max read/write speed the PCIe Gen 3 slot allows.

Here are the specs for your notebook's processor.  Since notebook processors are integral parts of the motherboard, you can look up the PCIe connectivity specs by looking up your notebook's processor specs.

I selected the most powerful processor HP offered in the 16-c0000 model series.
