M.2 nvme supports my laptop so confused which one to buy. I'm planning on buying crucial p5 plus what's your opinion

Hi:

 

Your notebook's PCIe slot is only Gen 3, so the P5 Plus will only run at the Gen 3 speeds.

 

I have the Crucial P5 in my Dell 7050 MT business desktop PC.

 

It runs great, but unfortunately based on my experience and perhaps those of others, it runs hot.

 

I had to put a heat sink on mine to keep the idle temperatures below 50C.

 

You will not have that luxury to add a heat sink in a notebook due to the limited clearance.

 

You may want to look into a cooler running drive that provides about the same performance as the Crucial P5.

 

My recommendations would be either the Samsung 980 (not 980 Pro) or the Western Digital Blue SN570.

 

They are newer drives than the P5 and are designed to run a bit cooler.
