I plan on upgrading my HP laptop into a gaming laptop so I can play games on it. However, I recently bought an HP care pack for my device. If I upgrade my device, will it void my care pack?

Short Answer

Yes

Longer Answer

Only the original hardware and configuration are covered in a Care Pack purchased before the original Warranty expires.

Depending on what kind of upgrades you add, it's possible that it would be difficult to send the system in for hardware repair.  Why?   None of the new upgrades would be covered -- Support would not test, work on, or replace any component not part of the contracted warranty.

So, my answer is "Yes (void), with the caveat that if you put the original parts back into the system before you contact Support, then the Care Pack might still be intact enough to get service.

Online Case Submission to HP Support is available to those whose devices registered and are still in Warranty.

Some (Most) regions display phone / chat contact information only after the case is submitted online.

Not every issue is covered under the standard Hardware Warranty.  Purchased Care Pack Warranties differ by contract.

HP is not a "general" repair facility: Requests for out-of-warranty repairs are usually not accepted.

If the problem is hardware, if your device is in Warranty, if your device is Registered, and you cannot submit your case to Support, let us know and we will forward a request.
