15-dy2045nr
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am working on upgrading my HP 15-dy2045nr. The stock m.2 SSD only comes with 256gb, I need at least 512gb. I bought a 1tb XPG SX8100 m.2 2280 PCIe Gen3x4 NVMe SSD to upgrade with. It is M keyed, just like the stock unit, which is also a Gen3x4 PCIe m.2 SSD. I cannot get the windows media creation tool to see the SSD, but it shows up in BIOS. I also tried an HP SSD EX900 m.2, which is also PCIe and NMVe, but not 3D Nand like the XPG, just in case that was causing the problem.

I have booted the OEM SSD and it works beautifully. Updated the drivers, but still no luck. Anyone know what I am running into? Is there a compatibility issue that I am not seeing? If so, what 512gb or 1tb m.2 SSD would you recommend?

I appreciate the guidance!
