I recently bought a Hp Pavilion TouchSmart 15 Sleekbook used, but in excellent condition. When going through the set up process it wants to update windows 10, but it wants the product key. On my screen it only shows the last 5 digits. How do I get the rest of the Key?

You mentioned setup process. Did it not have an installed OS?

What is the complete product name or product number?

Hint: you can find that information  in the BIOS, system information tab.

Setup as in when you first turn on the compuer and it wants you to add an email for sign in, and more personalized options like how you want to sign in etc.

The product is a HP Pavilion Touchsmart 15 Sleekbook.

Where is the BIOS, system information tab?

Press the power button and then tap the Esc key. That will invoke the startup menu.  Click on F1 for system information.

Click on F10 to invoke the BIOS.

The Windows activation key is coded into the BIOS unless, in the Security tab of the BIOS,  the previous owner clicked on erase factory keys. The license activation key is for Windows 8.

The notebook was delivered with Windows 8.

Did the previous owner provide the recovery flashdrive that he made for the notebook?

You should be able to install Windows 8 and after going online the OS should activate.  Having an already activated Windows OS is the key to success for this.

After activating the OS you can upgrade to Windows 10 from Windows 8. See the following  tutorial article.
