Hi, my HP Pavilion Notebook - BIOS needs to be upgraded before I can upgrade to Windows 10. My Windows version is MS Windows 10 Home Version 10.0.10586 build 10586 and my BIOS version is American Megatrends Inc. F.16, 27.11.2015 and BIOS Modus UEFI.
HP Support Center suggests sp80252.exe, is that the correct update for my version and are there any programs I have to deactivate like Avast Security or anything else to keep in mind which could block the update?
Thank you in advance for your help!

Hi @Smuise
Here you have the BIOS update link
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp80001-80500/sp80252.exe
you can update it without problem, it does not affect to third party programs, BIOS only is focus on windows system, as recommendation you must keep connected the AC adapter, and only the AC adapter, if you have another devices connected on your computer, you must disconnect them
hope solve your issue, if you have any doubt let me know it

Hi,
The Bios update is firmware update for the notebook. It is not even really linked to Windows or the OS.
Here is the download page where you can read about the update and install instructions
Here you can see the various ways it can be installed

Hope it helps,
