Sorry, that the cloud recovery tool failed to create the media.

I am in the process of trying it using the cloud recovery tool version I have and a PNY 32 GB USB 3.0 flash drive.

I'll let you know the outcome when it is done.

I realize you may be turning in for the night, so you may not see my reply until tomorrow.

yeah, its getting late - although it may go faster for you (hopefully 🙂 )

im trying again for mine, hopefully it does not take as long as it did, can you try it for the product number: 255l5es#abu

thank you

Yes, I got the product number from your screenshot, and it is 81% through downloading the file.

Then it has to go through the process of creating the bootable recovery media which takes a while longer.

Hi:

Using my version of the HP cloud recovery tool program and my PNY 32 GB USB flash drive, I had no problem creating the recovery drive.

i just tried the installation via the version you sent - and it gave the same error after the installation finished.

i have included the new screenshot of the error which is the same as before.

I don't get it.

I was able to create the recovery drive on the first try with no problem.

The only thing I can think of is the program does not like the USB flash drive you are using, and it may be the same reason you are getting the missing drivers issue on the clean install.

This is the model I use...the two pack is only 3 quid more than a single one.

Let's go back to the original problem of the driver thing...

Instead of using the Media creation tool to automatically create the bootable USB installer, download the ISO file instead and use Rufus to transfer the file to a USB flash drive.

Rufus - Create bootable USB drives the easy way

Maybe you will get a different result.

i tried the rufus method - i believe it may be the USB, the only reason i didnt suspect it because ive done windows install in other pcs with the same USB.

maybe ill try getting a new USB and trying.

hey, i attempted to install it onto a sd card and it worked - but the issue is its not showing up in the bios. Is this a bios setting i will have to change or simply the bios doesnt detect sd cards.
