hello, I have a query in regards to my HP g2 dock - currently connected via usb-c I noticed that night light does not work when my HDMI screen is connected via dock.
There is a fix from Displaylink which is https://support.displaylink.com/knowledgebase/articles/1886413 however that is not working with HP dock for some reason.
i have also installed the Displaylink app, which has an option for night light but does not work as well.
Trying to get in touch with displaylink from days without success. do you know if this is possible at all? i really like the Night Light option. when the external screen is connected on its own to the laptop, it perfectly works.

Asus 23'' Screen on HDMI
many thanks,
Gabrio

hi there,
you failed to understand the issue hehe, the Dock fully works with my Asus so you are wrong, it perfectly connects all the devices via USB-C which is indeed 3.1 and it does support video out 100% - it's just not thunderbolt so you will not get the charging, everything else works perfect.
Now, i managed to solve the issue with Nightlight but it involved an adaptor, Alban Rampon from DisplayLink helped me, so i got this: https://www.amazon.nl/-/en/dp/B086QRQ1BN/ (no affiliate link) off Amazon, then plugged the adaptor to the HDMI, it still didn't work, then did this registry hack, which is actually recommended from DisplayLink website:
https://support.displaylink.com/knowledgebase/articles/1886413
- Start RegEdit
- Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\DisplayLink\Core
- Create new String value with name EnableGammaRamp and set the data to be: true
- Unplug and plug your DisplayLink device
- Enable “Night light”
I created the registry key manually since it didn't work. Restart windows10 and BINGO it worked!
It involved spending another 11€ but very happy now, it's so much better on the eyes without having to use additional modes from the screen, etc.
hope it can help others!
Best,
Gabrio

HI@gabgabgab,Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Nearly all ASUS VivoBook S15 S530UN notebooks don't have a docking port therefore you can't get a docking station for your machineASUS VivoBook S15 S530UN or for. The specs of your machine are
https://www.asus.com/in/Laptops/ASUS-VivoBook-S15-S530UN/Tech-Specs/
which shows it has
- 1 USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C™ (Data Transfer Only, 5 Gb/s signaling rate);
- 2 USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A (Data Transfer Only);
- 1 AC smart pin;
- 1 HDMI 1.4b;
- 1 headphone/microphone combo;
- 1 RJ-45
Form more information Thunderbolt 3, USB 3.1, USB Type-C: Making Sense of Connections link
As you can see, its USB-C port does NOT support video out. At this stage, a docking station using USB-A ports still is a good choice. If you wish to have 2 or more external monitors, please enter your requirement on the following link and it will find for you few options on the market today including some HP products:
