Microsoft Windows 11

Hello,

Pc Healh returns the information that AMD A6-6310 with Radeon 4 is not supported by Windows 11, although meets the minimum requirements.

All other requirements are met.

Direct X 12 is installed. The GPU driver is the best installed because others cause issues.

Is there any firmware update that I can apply to the cpu?

Is there any firmware  upgrade that will solve the issue, or is just because the cpu is not in Microsoft list?

I have read in a Microsoft forum that the incompatibility could be a result of a possible security flaw in the cpu or gpu. Can someone please clarify if it is the case?

Thank you

You're very welcome.

Your notebook's AMD processor version can run W11 24H2 or I would have informed you of that shortcoming.

The processor has to support the new W11 24H2 and later W11 release requirements of the processor supporting SSE 4.2.

Hi:

There is nothing you can do to your notebook to have it meet Microsoft's minimum W11 AMD processor requirements of an AMD Ryzen 3xxx series mobile processor or newer.

If you are happy with your PC, and if you are interested in doing an in-place upgrade from W10 to W11 24H2 on your PC as is, watch this video, which is the easiest way to do it in my opinion, and I have used several different ways to do this during the last 3 years.

How to Install Windows 11 on Unsupported PC in 2025 (New Easiest Method, No CMD)

Download the W24H2 ISO file and use that (3rd option).

Download Windows 11

You can download the free 7-Zip file utility from the link below. The top line is for 64 bit.

7-Zip

You'll have to repeat this procedure if and when Microsoft rolls out the new W11 builds because a PC that does not meet Microsoft's minimum W11 hardware requirements will never automatically get the update to the next build.

They have been releasing new W11 builds each October so far.

Other than that, your PC will continue to get the monthly cumulative and other updates.

That's only a minor inconvenience to have continued OS support beyond October of 2025.

If things don't work right on W11, you have 10 days to easily go back to W10 as long as you don't delete the W1 upgrade files or the Windows.old folder.

Hello  Paul,

Thank you for your reply.

I started to see the video and I I don´t know which generation is my cpu, because in the video is stated that generation 2 or 3, windows 11 24H2 can´t be installed because it will crash. Only 23H2 will work. In that case I won´t be able to install new builds, correct?

This is the information found online about the cpu and gpu in my laptop: AMD A6-6310 Benchmark, Test and specs

Can you clarify this information?

As alternative I can only install a Linux OS? Which version of Linux do you recommend, that runs most of windows applications?

Thank you

Best Regards,
