BIOS > Security and check [x] Fingerprint reset
- Save BIOS settings and exit
(4) Download and install from Microsoft Apps Store

- Perform Component Test - Fingerprint reader

Hello,
i can't find "fingerprint reader" in hp hardware diagnostics tests.
I am also attaching a screen of the device drivers after installing the update you suggested and the reset performed via bios.
I hope I have done everything correctly.

Thanks for reporting.
Basically the fingerprint reader works. So it's a Windows software/driver/operating system problem whatsoever ...
Do you remember when the last time ( date? ) the fingerprint reader worked under Windows ? We could try to revert to an earlier Windows software state. Please check Windows Update history.
